The Minnesota State city of Columbus, with a population of barely 4,000, is located in Anoka County and is the home of the Running Aces racetrack. The 5 furlong oval harness track, consisting of limestone and dust, has a 198 metre home straight, but lacks a grandstand facility. It held its inaugural meeting on 11th April 2008 and now has a season which extends from June to September, a total of 53 days of live racing, but is also blessed with a casino and simulcast.
